Hard fought win for 1st Team

3 weeks ago By Steve HARRIS

In poor conditions 3 points are secured at Clappers Lane against Conwy Borough

Following an early morning pitch inspection the game went ahead however by the time it kicked off the conditions had worsened and the pitch was cutting up badly.
Alistair Gibson came close in the 11th minute and Tom Wells struck the post in the 21st however the score remained at 0-0 at half time.
As the conditions worsened Gresford were awarded a penalty in the 65th minute which Mike Latham slotted away to the keepers right. Conwy equalised through a free kick shortly after and as we entered injury time a draw looked to be on the cards until James Jones found the back of the net from close range in the 93rd minute to seal a well deserved win, a fantastic effort in atrocious conditions from all involved today

The hard work now starts in getting the pitch ready for next weekends visit of Holywell Town
